This project aims to transform Deane Street into a vibrant and colourful public space with alfresco dining areas, spaces for resting and play and improved pedestrian safety. This project will build on the current trial to create a permanent food and entertainment destination in the heart of Burwood.

Project features:

New urban pedestrian plaza
Shared pedestrian zone
Kerb extensions to allow for alfresco dining opportunities
Landscaping, tree canopy shade and seating
Bicycle parking and repair station
Pavement treatment and lighting
Streetscape upgrades with new unit paved footpaths, kerb and gutter and street furniture
Road conversion to two-way traffic (George Street) and kerb realignment
Taxi rank relocation
Signalised intersection
