Later that evening the Library Carpark (2 Conder Street) will be hub for food trucks with the Aussie Night Markets rolling in for residents and visitors to enjoy an evening meal.
Christmas performers will be at The Strand in Croydon on Friday evening 17 while Clarendon Lane at Burwood Chinatown will shut-down for the Nights at Burwood Chinatown street event including dining options, live music and family entertainment on Saturday 18 (5pm-midnight) and Sunday 19 (3pm-10pm).
Other highlights including roaming performances, Christmas Banners and decorations including the popular tree in Burwood Park, and the return of the interactive plasma Light Sculpture at Unity Place.
If that wasn’t enough Council, will next week commence judging the annual Christmas Lights competition. The entries are sure to provide a backdrop of colour for those on an evening walk or drive.
Mayor John Faker said Council has been working with local businesses to help reactivate town centres after a challenging year.
“Burwood is bouncing back. Council committed to helping our residents and businesses return to their full potential. There’s no better time to encourage people to return to our town centre,” Cr Faker said.
“It’s no secret it has been an extremely challenging period for our community who endured the onerous conditions of lockdown.
“If we can play our part in putting the wonder back in Christmas, that is something to be proud of,” he concluded.
