School Holiday VR Adventures

Get ready for a fun-filled virtual reality adventure at Burwood Library during the school holidays! Join us on Wednesday, 16 April 2025, for three exciting VR sessions, each tailored to different age groups and educational themes.

Session 1: Ocean Life in VR (ages 5-8 years)

• 1:30 PM - 2:25 PM

• Dive deep into the ocean and get up close to dolphins, coral reefs, jellyfish, and whale sharks! This immersive experience uses accessible animations, 3D CGI, and holograms to teach children about invertebrates and vertebrates, adaptations, classes of animals, life cycles, and food webs. Aligned with the Living Things curriculum, this session makes learning fun and engaging.

Session 2: Space in VR (ages 9-12 years)

• 2:30 PM - 3:25 PM

• Embark on an unparalleled journey through the solar system! In this workshop, the entire class will simultaneously pilot research vessels around planets and moons. Using a fully-networked set of headsets and cutting-edge software with CGI, our facilitators will guide you through an immersive experience that enhances learning and boosts fact retention. Ignite your curiosity and inspire the next generation of scientists and astronauts.

Session 3: Human Body in VR (all ages)

• 3:30 PM - 4:25 PM

• Explore the incredible workings of the human body! Discover the circulation system, the digestive system, and the skeletal system in a truly immersive way. Packed with facts and featuring accessible graphics, animations, CGI, and 3D holograms, this workshop takes everyone on a journey of discovery. Learning points are fully aligned with school curriculum targets, making it both educational (shhh, don’t tell the kids) and entertaining!
