Green Waste

Each year residents are offered:

  • one free bookable Green Waste Clean-up
  • two free Green Waste drop-off days

Book a Green Waste Clean-up

Burwood Council provides one free Green Waste Clean-up service to all Burwood Council residents per calendar year. The booked clean-up service is only available to residential properties only, business rateable properties will NOT be accepted.

The maximum volume is 1.5 cubic metres

Burwood Council reserves the right to reject any clean-up items deemed unsuitable. Items unsuitable for collection will be left behind and a non-collection notice will be left in your mailbox.

 

Items collected in Green Waste Clean-up:

  • Leaves, grass clippings, and tree loppings up to 15cm in diameter and 1.5m in length.
  • All loose materials must be placed in sturdy containers or bagged.
  • Tree branches and prunings must be tied in bundles.

 

To help ensure your Green Waste clean-up collection runs smoothly and to enable our drivers to remove your items safely, it's important to:  

• A Customer Service team member will confirm the booking date, do not place any items out until the date confirmed by council

• Put items on the kerb/council verge on the day before the assigned collection day

• Waste left on the street outside of your collection times (or on public land at any time) is deemed illegal dumping and may lead to a heavy fine 

• Ensure you don't exceed the maximum volume of 1.5 cubic metres

• Grass clippings and/or leaves must be put into bags 

• Branches must be bundled

• Stack items neatly and safely

Items NOT collected in green waste clean up:

  • Untied/loose prunings, tree stumps and tree loppings exceeding 15cm in diameter and 1.5m in length.
  • Building materials, such as timber or bricks.
  • Food waste, including vegetables and fruit.
  • Soils and stones.

 

 

The green waste drop-off will occur between 8am – 12noon on Saturday 7 September 2024 at Council Operations Centre - 8 Kingsbury Street, Croydon Park

Please Note: Residents are required to offload green waste, so be sure to bring along rakes, shovels and gloves

* Proof of residence is required (licence or rates notice) and is limited to household quantities only.

* All loads will be inspected and Council has the right to turn away unaccepted items.
